Course Description

This course consists of a general introduction to the wisdom literature of the ancient Near East and of ancient Israel; exegesis of Selected passages from the five "Wisdom Books" of the Old Testament: Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes (or Qoheleth), the Wisdom of Ben Sira (Sirach or Ecclesiasticus), and the Wisdom of Solomon (or Book of Wisdom); and a general introduction to the Psalms of Israel.
